Senior Army Instructor

Major (Ret.) Gilbert T. Gozalo

         Major (Ret.) Gilbert T. Gozalo served honorably in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps for 22 years where he held numerous leadership positions from Squad Leader, Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander to Supply and Service Officer.

 

         MAJ (Ret.) Gozalo was assigned and deployed to numerous parts of the United States and around the world including the Philippines, Diego Garcia, Thailand, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Korea, and Hawaii.

 

         His last assignment while in the military was the Deputy Officer, Supply and Services, G4, I Corps Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. MAJ (Ret.) Gozalo Retired in June 2011. In October 2011. He became an ROTC Senior Military Science Instructor with the University of Washington, and then became the Enrollment Scholarship and Recruitment Officer with Pacific Lutheran University, WA.

 

         MAJ (Ret.) Gozalo is married and has 2 children.He now servers as Westside’s 22nd Wolfpack Battalion JROTC Senior Army Instructor and the Westside JROTC Director of Curriculum.

Army Instructor

Sergeant First Class (Ret.) Andre J. Fontenot

     SFC (Ret.) Andre J. Fontenot is a Texas native hailing from Beaumont Texas.  He entered the military in January 1999 with an enlistment in the United States Army reserve at the age of 17. In 2001, he transitioned to active duty where he served for twenty-two years as an Army Intelligence Analyst and Army CID Special Agent.  SFC (Ret.) Fontenot retired from active duty in March 2021.

 

      SFC (Ret.) Fontenot completed three combat tours, two in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He has served in Korea, Japan, and numerous assignments within the United States and abroad.  His last assignment was with the 11th Military Police Battalion, Fort Cavazos, TX as the Operations Sergeant Major.  After retiring from the U.S. Army, SFC (Ret.) Fontenot became a Middle School English and Dyslexia teacher with TEA certifications in ELA-R 4-8 and Science of Teaching Reading (STR) PK-12. Other certifications include Wilson Reading Systems (WRS) and Reading by Design Dyslexia Programs.

      SFC (Ret.) Fontenot has earned an Associated of Applied Science in Intelligence Operations, Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology.  Some of his military education includes Hostage Negotiations Course; Sexual Assault Investigations Course; Protective Services Training Course; Computer Incident Response Course; Digital Evidence Acquisition Specialist Training; Army Recruiter Course; Intelligence Analyst and Motor Transport Operators Course.
